The War YOU Made

The Christian War Against Themselves

In recent news, Democratic Speaker of House Nancy Pelosi, is being denied communion by the Archbishop of San Francisco due to her position on abortions. Which has sparked conversation about heretical Christians and that churches have and use this ability to withhold rituals as discipline.

Greg Locke recently said that one can’t be a Democrat and a Christian, saying you can’t compromise with godless communists. You know, the usual fear mongering, red scare shit. Except from the pulpit. He also promised the Democrats to keep pushing, because “you ain’t seen a real insurrection yet.” Of course, he says he’s not trying to lead an insurrection and that it was taken out of context. My reaction below:

At a concert on January 22, 2022, John Cooper of Skillet declared war on the Deconstruction movement happening within Christianity. He’s stated that they have divorced themselves from Jesus Christ and that they are lying to your kids and essentially trying to indoctrinate them.

In the spot where I usually put an image or a video at the beginning, I have a music video from the Christian rock band Red. The lyrics in this song are about how we create a lot of our issues ourselves. And I feel like this applies to the Christian congregation as a whole.

People like John Cooper and Greg Locke create the war that they’re in and it honestly gets them views from die hard Christians fighting the good fight against evil. Notice how John Cooper is plugging his new book in his concert to fight this war against the deconstructionists.

Greg Locke gets a lot of free publicity every time there is outrage, and openly admits to how it usually gets him more viewership because his audience feels like he’s fighting the good fight in spiritual warfare. And it’s funny that he says not to compromise with the other side. Pretty sure one of Jesus’ key teachings was to love your “enemy.”

Folks like Greg and John either don’t see how they create the war, or they profit too much off of it. In my experience, folks like them don’t see that people like them are why people leave the church. You can’t be “X, Y, or Z” and be a Christian. Fine!! Then don’t get upset when the people you’ve labeled non-Christians stop showing up to church on Sunday.

I can speak from first hand experience here. Back when my family attended regularly, a sermon was done the week before the election and it was themed along making the right choice. It felt implied that you can’t be Christian and Democrat. And now local churches are complaining about membership and attendance. Maybe don’t chase off your flock? Maybe don’t deny your fellow believers access to religious rituals?

The culture wars are the last thing that needs to come into play into religion.

Do you really want to divide yourselves? Because I’m pretty sure that’s when the Devil wins.

My suggestion end the war that YOU made.
